Insurrectionist Who Wanted to Hang Nancy Pelosi Makes Friends With KKK Members, Christian Nationalists

Exposed as part of a long-running series on far-right extremism in Ohio

Two years of probation and $525 of restitution and fees. That's apparently the price for trying to end American democracy. If you were to ask an average American what a milquetoast, overweight redneck not worth his weight in fried shit looked like, you'd probably elicit Steven Billingsley.

On January 6th, this cornfed inbred decided to storm the Capitol. While holding a camera, he shouted, "Yeah baby, storm the Capitol. That's where the thieves are." He insulted and threatened police, saying, "Fuck you people... We can do it the nice way or the hard way. You guys turned on us." When police began using pepper spray, he shouted, "We're gonna have three million bomb y'all," "This is war," and, "You're in trouble," while helping to undo a metal barricade. He screamed, "Push" as other rioters pushed past law enforcement. This and his actions at the barricade make it likely that he could have been convicted of a felony charge of civil disorder if the government had pursued it.

Instead, Billingsley was charged with and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge. After his arrest in August 2021, he showed zero signs of contrition of any kind, attending an anti-mask rally in Steubenville and leaving court on January 6th charges with a "STOLEN PROPERTY" t-shirt that featured an image of the White House. Even after pleading guilty, he let it be known he felt he was the victim. Billingsley is friends with fellow Ohio insurrectionists Clayton Norris and John Douglas Wright as well as other far-right Ohio residents like Jenny Sirocky, Margaret "Glassner" Lytle, Pastor Jeff Tauring, and local Akron-Canton Proud Boys leader Dan "Boomer" Ciamaichella, all of whom I've highlighted previously.

In a conversation with the overweight Sirocky, Billingsley said, "I'm really upset with our establishment. It's not right not fair." I understand Steven fancies himself a white Republican banker, but when has "the establishment" ever been used as a positive term? Billingsley then said, "Sux when it's all liberal judges. Judge I had sat there and bitched at me bout the election and it wasn't fraud and blah blah blah." Sirocky replied with a puking emoji, which ironically is something she should probably do more of.

As a matter of fact, Billingsley got Judge Thomas F. Hogan, an appointee of Ronald Reagan who has served on the bench for 40 years. So, he's hardly a "liberal judge." Even with his break, Billingsley has clearly learned nothing. His probation is almost over. Wright is in prison, Norris is awaiting a near-certain conviction, and Sirocky and the others are still being terrible people.

A friend of Margaret Lytle and Billingsley by extension is Daniel Hankins, a member of the KKK. In a comment about Whoopi Goldberg, he said, "I wouldn't give her the press good or bad just leave the country like you said you would fuckin ni***r lovin whore... fuckin shitstain cunt." Facebook gave Hankins a warning, but Hankins said, "I ignored it lol." White supremacists, Christian nationalists, and violent criminals. Nearly all of Donald Trump's supporters fall into one or more of these three groups. This is what Ohio is up against. This is what America is up against.
