Insurrection Detection Files Tax Complaint Against Church With Ties to January 6th

Evil thrives in darkness. With the Liberty Valley project and the help of my confidential informants from the great state of Ohio, I am working to shine light unto this darkness. The Liberty Valley Church in Ohio has been the subject of numerous exposés in the past few weeks. I've highlighted its ties to a January 6th defendant who blames Jews for all the world's problems, its history of affiliating with the Proud Boys, and the naked partisan politics it has engaged in. Now, I believe this last point could land this "church" in some trouble.

Insurrection Detection has filed a tax complaint against the Liberty Valley Church and Pastor Jeff Tauring using a Form 13909 sent to the FBI. The complaint section of the form reads as follows:

"The Liberty Valley Church is attended by numerous January 6th defendants and their affiliates, and it has worked to pursue a political agenda. After the conviction of Donald Trump on 34 felony charges, it flew the American flag upside down as a form of protest. The church also flies the Gadsden flag. Pastor Jeff Tauring runs a number of political podcasts and YouTube channels. In January 2022, Tauring spoke before a Hudson school board meeting to oppose diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. In February 2022, he and other members of the church organized a protest at the home of a Jewish lawmaker and his family alongside several right-wing politicians from Indiana. Later that year, the church disseminated a mailer that contained an image of Thomas Paine on one side and a man in a Guy Fawkes mask on the other. The mailer has no reference to Christianity and instead spends two paragraphs attacking Walmart, attacks China for coronavirus, says the Lincoln Project attacks Trump because of the tariffs he placed on China, and finishes off by spreading COVID vaccine conspiracy theories. On July 4th, the church referenced Donald Trump's political campaign and described the launch of what it called a 'campaign to Make America Great Again.' The capitalization is his. This is a church run by a pastor using his pulpit for politics, not for religion. He should not be allowed religious tax exemption when he spends more time promoting political causes and candidates than he does religion."

I am awaiting a response to this matter, but I have asked the IRS not to give the church my information for fear that they would employ the same intimidation tactics they have used against others. In the meantime, my work to expose and oppose these dangerous, bigoted lunatics will continue. We cannot allow people using religion as a guise for politics and politics as a guise for bigotry to succeed. Doing so would mean the end of all that really makes America great: peace, tolerance, and love.
